Why can't I order a cheque book or credit book?

Personal current account

You can order a cheque book or credit book online provided you have previously ordered one for that account through telephone banking.

To order a cheque book or a credit book online:

  1. Log on to Digital Banking at www.digitalbanking.rbs.co.uk (opens in a new window)
  2. Select 'Payments and transfers' from the main menu
  3. Under the 'Credit/cheque books' section select either 'Order cheque book' or 'Order credit book' and follow the on screen instructions

If the account you are trying to order a cheque or credit book for is not listed then your cheque/credit book preferences have not been recorded for that account and you will need to call telephone banking to place your order.

Please have your Customer Number and security number ready as this will enable your call to be answered faster and more securely. These are the same details you use to log in to Digital Banking.

Business current accounts

To order a cheque or paying-in book with Digital Banking or the mobile app, you must have previously ordered one via the digital form (opens in a new window), or with webchat, by speaking to us on one of our business pages (opens in a new window), clicking 'Chat now' and asking us to 'order a cheque or paying-in book'.

If you have access to Digital Banking or the mobile app

To order a cheque book or a paying-in book:

  1. Log in to your Digital Banking service at www.digitalbanking.rbs.co.uk (opens in a new window)
  2. Select 'Payments and transfers' from the left hand menu
  3. Under the 'Credit/cheque books' heading select either 'Order cheque book' or 'Order paying-in book'
  4. Choose which of your accounts you wish to order against and click 'Next'
  5. Click 'Confirm' to place your order

You can also order a cheque or paying-in book with Cora, your digital assistant.

When on the mobile app click 'Help', then 'Message Us' and ask Cora to 'order cheque or paying-in book'. She'll take the details and process your request.

We will ask for your details and order it for you.

If you haven't got access to Digital Banking or the mobile app

You can order your first and any further cheque books and paying in books using our digital stationary order form (opens in a new window).

The form will ask you for the email addresses of the people with signing permissions on the account.

We'll then email your signatories and ask them to authorise the request by uploading an image of their signature.
