Why do I see a 'service temporarily unavailable' message when I'm setting up a new payee online?

The most common solutions for this are:

  1. If you already have a payee set up to the same account number and sort code, please either use the existing payee or delete the existing one and try adding them again.
  2. Carefully check the details you have entered.
