Why is Credit Card Services closing?

We’re doing everything we can to help make managing your credit card online safer and more secure – and make it more difficult for fraudsters to access your details. Credit Card Services is closing as it will no longer be compliant with our enhanced security measures.

When is it happening?

Credit Card Services will close at the end of July 2019.

How does this affect the way I manage my credit card online?

After July you will be able to manage your credit card on our mobile app or via Digital Banking. Both will feature new security measures to meet new legislation and help keep your money safe.

Do I need to register for Digital Banking to manage my credit card online?

Yes, if you are not already registered for Digital Banking please visit www.rbsdigital.com (opens in a new window)

Will my secondary card holder be able to view the credit card account on their Digital Banking?

No. Your personal security information is unique to you and should not be shared with anyone else.

Do I still need to register for Digital Banking if I only hold a credit card with you?

Yes, if you would like to manage your credit card online you will need to register for Digital Banking, if you haven’t already done so. You can register for Digital Banking on www.rbsdigital.com (opens in a new window).

Can I still get paperless statements?

Yes. You need to sign up for paperless statements via Digital Banking or our mobile app.

Can I still make balance transfers?

Yes, you can request a balance transfer by calling the number on the back of your credit card.

How can I make payments to my credit card?

There are lots of different ways you can pay your Credit card bill. You can find a list of them on the Manage Your Credit Card (opens in a new window) page.

Will I still receive an alert to tell me my monthly payment is due?

No, if you currently receive payment alerts these will stop when Credit Card Services closes in July. You will however receive an alert if no payment is received by the due date. To avoid missing a payment you may wish to consider setting up a monthly direct debit.

Can I still service my business credit cards online?

Yes. There are no changes to existing Online Services provided for your business credit card.
