For extra security, we may ask you for a one time passcode to make sure it’s you logging into Digital Banking. A One Time Passcode is specific to the current transaction and it is valid for 8 minutes from the time that it is sent to you.

One Time Passcode via mobile device

If we have your mobile details, you’ll get a one time passcode to your device within 1-2 minutes.

I don't have my mobile/mobile number invalid

You can select "This is not my number (card reader required to access your full account" and follow the on screen instructions.

We recommend you update your mobile number so you don’t need your card reader and card to access Digital Banking.

Changing your mobile phone number

  1. In Digital Banking, select 'your details' and then 'Update mobile phone number'
  2. Type in your new number into the 'New mobile number' box. Then retype it in the 'Repeat new mobile number' box. 
  3. Make sure your number and country code are correct, then authorise the change using your card reader.

Order card reader

  1. Log in to your Digital Banking service at www.digitalbanking.rbs.co.uk (opens in a new window)
  2. Select 'Security' from the menu in the 'Using a card reader' section.
  3. Select 'Order a card reader'.
