I don't have a card-reader, how can I make a payment?

Digital Banking

If you want to set up or amend a payee in Digital Banking you will need a card-reader. However, you don't need one to arrange a payment to someone you have already paid online.

Mobile banking

You can also make payments of up to £250 through the Pay Your Contacts feature on our Mobile Banking app.

Telephone banking

If your Telephone Banking service is fully activated, you can set up and make a payment over the phone.

Branch

Ordering a card-reader

We do suggest you order a card-reader so that you can set up and amend payees in the future.

  1. Log in to www.rbsdigital.com (opens in a new window)
  2. Select 'Security' from the menu.
  3. In the 'Using a card-reader' section, select 'Order a card-reader'.
  4. Select a reason from the drop down menu.
  5. Select 'Confirm'.
