Why am I unable to set up a standing order from my savings account?

The terms and conditions of our savings accounts state that standing orders and direct debits are not permitted on these account types.

Standing orders and direct debits can only be set up from suitable current accounts which allow these payment instructions.

Historically, our systems have allowed these payments to be set up on savings accounts. We have now made changes to our systems to prevent this. You may however continue to view / cancel any payments that have been set up historically.

Any existing standing orders set up from your savings accounts will continue to be paid until further notice.
