How do I change my address?

You can change your address with the bank using one of the following options:

Please note our chat agents can only change the address on your personal accounts and credit cards if:

  • We have a valid mobile number for you on record.
  • You have not recently changed your mobile number.
  • You have an active Card-Reader on your account.
  • You can access Digital Banking on the same device you chat from.
  • The account is not a business account.

Visit us

You can change your address by visiting any Royal Bank of Scotland branch - Please remember to take some form of photographic identification, such as your passport or driving licence with you. Find your nearest branch using our branch locator (opens in a new window).

Write to us

Write a letter and address it to your branch - please include your new address and make sure you sign the letter. Usually a change via letter will take 3-5 working days from posting. If you have a credit card with us please mention it in your letter so we can ensure the address for your card is also updated. Please note the letter may be subject to extra security checks especially if your signature does not match our records. Talk to us

If you are fully registered for Telephone Banking (you have a PIN and Password to use the service) you can call us and we will update your address over the phone.
